Terms of Use and Event Participation Agreement

Effective Date: July 19, 2026

CAIO Open Mic is a brand licensed to and operated by CxO Open Mic Inc. ("CxO Open Mic", "we", "us", or "our").

These Terms of Use and Event Participation Agreement ("Terms") govern participation in CAIO Open Mic events, activities, websites, applications, services, programs, and related offerings operated by or on behalf of CxO Open Mic Inc.

By registering for, attending, speaking at, sponsoring, volunteering for, participating in, or otherwise engaging with a CAIO Open Mic event, website, application, or service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Purpose of CAIO Open Mic

CAIO Open Mic exists to foster professional dialogue, community engagement, leadership development, networking, knowledge sharing, and constructive discussion among artificial intelligence, data, technology, product, privacy, risk, governance, transformation, and business professionals.

The organization seeks to provide an environment where practitioners and leaders may exchange ideas, experiences, lessons learned, and perspectives in a respectful and professional setting.

Participation in CAIO Open Mic activities is a privilege and not a right.

2. Eligibility

Participants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

By participating in a CAIO Open Mic event or service, participants represent that they meet this requirement.

CxO Open Mic Inc. reserves the right to restrict participation based upon professional qualifications, organizational affiliation, event capacity, event objectives, security considerations, sponsorship commitments, venue limitations, community standards, or other operational considerations.

3. Event Registration

Registration does not guarantee admission.

CxO Open Mic Inc. may verify participant information where reasonably necessary.

4. Community Standards

Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional, respectful, and constructive manner.

Participation that undermines the integrity or safety of an event may result in corrective action, including removal from the event.

5. No Sales Pitches

CAIO Open Mic events are intended to promote authentic discussion and professional knowledge sharing.

However, participants may not use event participation primarily for aggressive prospecting, commercial solicitation, product demonstrations intended primarily as sales presentations, repeated promotional activity, or disruptive marketing efforts.

Sponsors remain welcome to engage participants professionally and respectfully in accordance with the spirit of the event.

6. Speakers and Presentations

Speakers remain solely responsible for statements made during presentations, opinions expressed, presentation content, materials submitted, and intellectual property rights associated with their content.

Views expressed by speakers do not necessarily represent the views of CxO Open Mic Inc., CAIO Open Mic, sponsors, community partners, venue operators, volunteers, judges, or event staff.

CxO Open Mic Inc. reserves the right to modify event schedules, adjust speaker lineups, change presentation formats, cancel sessions, reassign speaking times, or remove presentations that do not align with event objectives or community standards.

7. Sponsors

Sponsors support event operations but do not control speaker selection, event programming, judging decisions, awards, editorial direction, or participant selection.

Participation by sponsors does not constitute endorsement by CxO Open Mic Inc.

Participants acknowledge that registration information may be shared with sponsors in accordance with the applicable Privacy Policy and event registration disclosures.

8. Photography, Video, and Recording

Participants acknowledge that events may be photographed, filmed, livestreamed, recorded, or documented.

Participation constitutes consent to the use of a participant's name, image, voice, likeness, presentation content, and participation for promotional, educational, operational, historical, archival, sponsorship, and business purposes.

Participants waive any claim for compensation relating to such use.

9. Intellectual Property

All trademarks, logos, branding, graphics, event names, materials, websites, applications, and content associated with CAIO Open Mic remain the property of their respective owners and licensors.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of intellectual property rights.

Participants may not reproduce event materials without authorization, distribute proprietary materials without permission, or modify or exploit event content for commercial purposes without appropriate authorization.

10. Website and Platform Use

Users of websites, applications, portals, and services operated by CxO Open Mic Inc. agree not to:

11. Event Changes

CxO Open Mic Inc. reserves the right to change venues, modify event formats, adjust schedules, postpone events, reschedule events, cancel events, or modify event programming.

Such changes may occur without prior notice where circumstances require.

CxO Open Mic Inc. reserves the right to remove, suspend, deny entry to, or otherwise restrict participation by any individual where it reasonably determines such action is necessary to:

Event content is provided for informational, educational, networking, and discussion purposes only.

CxO Open Mic Inc. makes no representations regarding accuracy of speaker statements, completeness of information presented, business outcomes resulting from participation, or professional advice provided by attendees or speakers.

Participants remain responsible for their own decisions, actions, and business relationships.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CxO Open Mic Inc., its directors, officers, volunteers, contractors, sponsors, judges, community partners, venue operators, representatives, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from event participation, use of event services, reliance on information presented, networking activities, business opportunities, sponsorship activities, or event cancellations or modifications.

Participants assume responsibility for their own participation and related decisions.

15. Indemnification

Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless CxO Open Mic Inc., its directors, officers, volunteers, contractors, sponsors, representatives, and affiliates from claims arising from participant misconduct, violation of these Terms, violation of applicable laws, infringement of third-party rights, or content submitted by participants.

16. Privacy

Collection, use, disclosure, retention, and protection of personal information are governed by the CxO Open Mic Privacy Policy.

Participants are encouraged to review the Privacy Policy before registering for or participating in events.

17. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Participants agree that any dispute arising under or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.

18. Changes to These Terms

CxO Open Mic Inc. may revise these Terms from time to time.

Updated versions will be posted with a revised effective date.

Continued participation following publication of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of those revisions.
